What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis can be defined as being in a relaxed enhanced state of awareness where you are open and receptive to suggestions. While in hypnosis, no one can make you do anything you don’t want to do. You remain fully aware of your surroundings. Hypnosis works best when the client is highly motivated to make a positive change. Hypnotherapy can be used to stop smoking, lose weight, reduce stress, control pain, improve sleep, overcoming a fear or phobia and more.
How does it work?
The client is placed in a relaxed state using basic relaxation exercises. The words, manner and speed in which a hypnotherapist delivers them contribute to the process. The client will be asked to close their eyes and by following the suggestions of the hypnotist be guided into deep relaxation with various methods. Once you are in a state of relaxation, your mind is open and receptive to suggestions. When your session is over, the therapist will once again guide you out of your relaxed state. A typical session last 60-90 minutes. All clients must complete a Client Intake Form prior to session.
